Pair of Cottages. C17, or earlier. Rubble-stone (base) and chalk block walls.
Sleeper buttresses with some render to end walls. Thatch roof, half-hipped at
left hand end, lower ridge at right hand end, terminating in a hip. Brick stack
at ridge, centre. 1½ storeys. 4 windows, irregular fenestration, 2- and 3-light
C20 metal casements with glazing-bars, wooden lintels, concrete cills. 3 eyebrow
dormers. Front doors, no.1: with segmental brick arch over, plank door. No. 2:
at left hand end, C20 with a glass light.
Interior: No.2: open fireplace with heavy-chamfered wooden lintel, stopped.
Chalk-block and brick jambs. Roof: jointed-cruck construction with 2 sets of
through-purlins. Ridge renewed.
