Stable range, now offices and cottages. c.1790, incorporating
remains of C16 building and early C18 house. Coursed and squared
rubble and brick, with hipped and gabled plain tile and slate
roofs. Ashlar plinth, first floor band, dentillated eaves and
pediments. 6 ridge, 2 gable and single side walls stacks. 2 and
3 storeys, 7 bays. L-plan. Stables openings have round and
segmental heads. Stables north front has projecting pedimented
central bay with round headed recess, containing a casement,
flanked by single doors with fanlights. Beyond, single round
headed recesses each containing a casement and beyond again,
single doors with fanlights. Above, central recess containing 3
round windows. Beyond, single casements. Beyond again, single
round windows. Dairy Cottage, to east, 2 storeys, 2 bays, double
depth, has to north, door flanked by Yorkshire sash and C19
casement. Above, similar sash and casement. West side has 2
metal casements on each floor. Gate Lodge, to west, H-plan, has
coped gables. East side has to left, door and C20 garage door.
Central bay has pair of central carriage doors, flanked by single
doors. North wing has hipped single storey addition, early C19.
All C20 fenestration. North side has 3 casements and door. To
right, a leaded casement. Above, 2 hipped dormers. All C20.
West side has rubble plinth and 4 buttresses. 4 C20 casements.
Above, each gable has a casement with segmental head. South side
has to left, single storey range with 2 casements. To right,
regular fenestration with C20 casements with segmental heads. At
east end, hexgonal game larder with hipped roof and C20
casements. Contains revolving iron hangers. To its left,
external stair to door with segmental head. Interior has late
C19 stalls, partitions and stable fittings.
