A small cottage dated 1741 I and MB. White-washed stone rubble, slate
roof, two very low storeys. Ground floor has 2 sash windows with 8 and
12-panes. Upper floor has a small bay window (its base resting on the lintel
of the lower window) with 2 sashes of 8 and 12 panes. Modern glazed porch
in the angle between North Syke and the next house which is at right angles.
North Syke forms a group with the Golden Rule Hotel, The Old House, North
View Nos 1 to 3 (consec), Smithy Brow, with Nos 1 to 4 (consec), Kirkstone
Foot Cottage, Cottage adjoining and Springwell Cottage, Tom Fold and The
The Haven, The Green.
