Dovecote. c1580. Red and blue brick with plain tiled roof with
scalloped bands, surmounted by timbered cupola with leaded
lights and ogee lead cap with weather vane. Octagonal with
single low entrance with 4-centred stone lintel. Internal
walls lined with nesting holes, and central wooden potence.
Cobbled floor. The dovecote is contemporary with the main
building of Whitehall (qv), built by Richard Prince between
1578 and 1582.
