House. 1667-69. Additions and alterations C18, C19 and C20.
Red brick, with stone plinth, blue brick diaperwork and
moulded brick dressings. Coursed squared stone rear wing, and
rendered addition to east. Plain tile roofs with moulded
shaped gables and central ridge stack. Side wall and rear
gable stacks.
2 storeys; 4 window range. Windows are mainly renewed wooden
framed casements with leaded glazing.
Off-centre square tower porch, 2 storeys, with string courses
and shaped gable. Ground floor has 3 rusticated round-arched
openings with impost band. Above, a 2-light window with drip
mould, and below it, a coat of arms, painted terracotta. To
right, a 3-light cross casement, and above, a smaller
flat-headed casement. To left, 2 segment-headed cross
casements, and above, 2 smaller flat-headed casements. To left
again, a single storey addition with 3 large round-arched
windows. Right gable has a 3-light casement on each floor,
with drip moulds. Rear gable has a similar reset drip mould.
INTERIOR: altered mid and late C20, has on the ground floor 2
rooms with moulded span beams without stops, and mainly
original joists. plain span beam to rear. On the first floor,
single purlin principal rafter roof, altered C19 and C20.
Early C18 2-panel door and fanlight, late C18 6-panel door.
