Description

FALMOUTH

SW8132NW ARWENACK STREET
843-1/8/28 (South West side)
Workshop and Store at rear of No.23

GV II

Workshop over basement store. Early C19. Painted rubble to
basement; painted slatehanging on studwork above; asbestos
slate hipped roof. Rectangular plan built into bank at the
front. Single storey over basement; symmetrical 2-window
front. Original 16-pane hornless sashes flanking central flush
panelled door. Similar sash under old gas light stump to
basement at rear and another sash but with top half replaced
with horned copy to right-hand return.
INTERIOR has remains of a C19 cast-iron range. The floorboards
are very worn in places indicating the position of former
partitions.
An interesting and complete example of this modest building
type, relating to the harbourside activities of this important
port.
