The upper section of the round-shafted Mercian pillar cross at Leek showing the collar that marks the transition from the round lower shaft to the rectangular upper shaft. The usually plain collar is here decorated with interlace. The rectangular panels of the upper shaft are decorated with scrollwork, fretwork and interlace.
