House and attached barn partly forming extra accommodation for house.
Early C17 house, barn added probably early C18. Rubble brought to
course, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2-storey front, single-
storey aisle or outshut to rear. 2-room front double-depth with
2-storey gabled porch to left. This has doorway with composite jambs
and chamfered surround with 2-light double-chamfered mullioned window
over to 1st floor. Coped gable with kneelers. Small chamfered-
light set in side walls to 1st floor. Double-chamfered mullioned
windows throughout, those to ground floor under a continuous hoodmould
with straight return to right-hand end. A 5-light and a 4-light
window with late-C20 gabled porch set between. 1st floor has two
3-light windows. 2 stacks to ridge. To left of C17 porch is added
C17 cell with doorway with composite jambs and chamfered surround.
Quoined angle and coped gable. This is used for agricultural purposes
and may always have been used as such. Outshut to rear of house has
two 2-light windows lacking mullions. To right, barn breaks forward.
Quoins. Cart-entry to left of outshut under cat-slide roof. Set back,
3 doorways with composite jambs and chamfered surrounds.
Interior: Housebody has stop-chamfered joists and scarf-jointed
spine beams carried on replaced bressumer; 2 beehive ovens and salt-
cupboard.
