Laithe-house, the barn now forming extra accommodation for the house.
Mid-late C18. Thin coursed rubble, dressed quoins, stone slate roof.
2-storey single-cell cottage to left, lower barn to right. Single bay
of flat-faced mullioned windows with plain stone surrounds, the mullions
slightly recessed; 2-light with 3-light over to 1st floor. Coping,
kneelers and stack to left gable. Barn has aisle breaking forward and
embracing front of house forming lean-to porch, the doorway with tie-
stone jambs. Tall cart-entry, slightly cut back has quoined angles and
wooden lintel (glazed c1983). Added stack to right gable of barn.
Rear has 2 bays of windows to cottage mostly altered. 1st floor has
3-light double-chamfered mullioned window, probably re-used.

Interior : housebody has stop-chamfered spine-beams with hanging preserve-
shelves.

Interesting in being an early example of a laithe house few of which survive
from this period.
