Farmhouse. Early C17, altered and extended to left in 1786 (RCHM). Timber-
frame, red brick infil and base, left hand wing is all in brick, plain tiled
roof; off-centre brick stack. Formerly an L-plan with projecting wing
at right; the added wing at the left replaces a parlour and transforms the
plan to a U-plan; cross-passage with hall at left and service end at right;
2 storeys and attics. Two 2- and 3-light casement and cross windows to
the centre and off-centre plank door at right. The left wing has 2-light
segemental headed windows and a tall staircase window. Lower extension
projects from the right wing. Interior: Stop-chamfered beams throughout.
The roof of the C18 wing has principal rafters with curved feet. (RCHM,
Vol II, 1932).
