Farmhouse. Probably C17. Coursed rubble, hipped slate roof to south,
central stack. Roughly L-plan with main range oriented north/south and
subsidiary wing added to east side at south end. Two storeys. South
elevation: two 2-light C19 casements to ground floor, one centrally placed
2-light, 6-pane casement to first floor. Entrance to right at junction
with subsidiary wing under rubble piered porch with depressed 4-centred
headed oak lintol and niche above through ledged C17 (?) door with strap-
hinges. Extension to right is probably C19: 3-light mullioned window,
gabled dormer above. Left hand side of elevation has pen-roof reaching
almost to eaves level of west side of main range: garage opening to ground
floor, loft opening above. North elevation of main range has 3 sets of
mullioned and transomed windows in wood: 6 lights to ground and first
floors; 3 lights to attic in gable end. Interior: not inspected. RCHM
records good examples of C17 panelling. (RCHM, Vol I).
