Farmhouse. Probably C17, altered in C18 and late C20. Rubble, stone slate
roofs, brick ridge stack left of centre and end stack to right. L-plan with
through-passage across main east-west range just short of its junction with
lower north-south wing. Two storeys to main range; one storey and attic to
subsidiary wing. Main range: 4 windows, large 5-light C20 metal casement to
right of centre, 4 evenly spaced 3-light C19 casements to first floor,
entrance to right by top-glazed C20 door and to left under 4-centred arch
by C20 door. Lower wing to left has tallet stairs to first floor and
beyond the stairs is a linked single storey building, again of rubble.
Left return of lower wing has oak mullioned window. Interior: 4-centred
door head with ledged C17 or C18 door leads from the rear side of the
through-passage alongside chimney into principal room which has large
chamfered ceiling beams. Date stone "1710", probably re-positioned set in
west gable. Rear elevation of main range has 4 evenly spaced C19 2-light
casements some with dripstones. Interior not inspected.
