GV II

Sluice and keepers house. C19. Ham stone cut and squared; clay tile roof with plain gables; brick chimney stack.
Single-storey with attics; 3 bays. Cross-glazed casements of 2 lights, the upper to bay 1 extended into a dormer; in
south-west gable at upper level a pointed arched window with brick voussoirs, and door giving access on weir and
sluices - building not accessible at close quarters and interior not seen. Sluices presumably reshaped in C20; stepped
concrete, side pools; cast iron gates and frames, all linked by wooden footbridge connecting to keeper's house. Part of
an extremely important industrial complex, probably pre-dating the c1855 Parrett Iron Works (qv).
