Detached house. C17. Ham stone near-ashlar facade, coursed rubble to sides and rear; plain clay tiled roof with stepped
coped north-east gable, hipped on south-west; brick chimney stack. Two storeys, 3 bays. Ovolo-mould mullioned windows
to upper bays 3 and 4, of 4 lights each, but the central mullion removed from bay 4; to upper bay 1 a 2-light plain
mullioned window in architrave; to lower bay 3 a 3-light horizontal bar casement, and to bay 4 an angled C20 bay window
with hipped slate roof, sash windows and French windows set in architraves; to lower bay 2 a cambered-arched doorway
with part-glazed door. In north-east gable a cast-iron window with segmental arched head; long extension to rear with
plain mullioned windows in architraves. Interior not seen. House presumably associated with earlier grist/malt mills
which have been on site since at least 1086. (VCH, Vol III, 1974).
