Banktop (Previously listed as Banktop Farmhouse)

Farmhouse. C17. Coursed and squared rubble with ashlar dressings;
clay tile roof with coped verges on kneelers. Integral brick end stacks.
In the local vernacular style; range of 2 rooms (Hall to West and Parlour
to East) with short rear wing housing pantry and staircase; entry directly
into parlour. 2 storeys; 3 ground floor windows with hood moulds and
2 1st floor windows; mullioned, with rebated surrounds and chamfered
mullions; windows to left have 4 lights, ground floor right of centre
3-lights, ground floor right 1 light, first floor right, 5 lights;
central board door with hood mould, stepped down to each side. Low
mid C19 extension to right with board door and casement window. Interior:
Original plank and muntin partition to west of entrance with doorway
in each end leading to hall, and staircase And pantry respectively;
hall has stone flagged floor and C19 kitchen fittings; closed well
staircase; 5 roof trusses define 6 equal bays; principal rafters and
chamfered tie beams. Colum Giles.
