House, now chapel and Post Office in kitchen wing. Mid-late C18 but probably
not part of the planned village originally. Punch-dressed stone, stone slate
roof. Double-depth. 2 storeys. 3 + 2 first-floor windows. House: 3-bay symmetrical
facade; quoins; doorway with architrave, frieze and casement-moulded cornice
with open inner porch with 2 doors inside; above and to flanking bays 16-pane
sash windows with raised surrounds. Coped gables with kneelers and stacks with
moulded cornice. 2-bay wing to right set back at slightly canted angle has
windows with flush plain-stone surrounds and 12-pane sashes with smaller 9-pane
sashes above. Ashlar eaves band. Lateral stack to right-hand return blind
except for doorway (to Post Office).
