GV II
Rectory, now house. Circa 1803. Rendered over coursed red sandstone
rubble; hipped slate roof. Shallow U-plan with some later infill at
rear. 2 storeys. Deep eaves, 4 brick stacks. North front: bays;
glazing bar sashes, ground-floor flat-roofed canted bays with tripartite
sashes in first and third bays from right and ground-floor 2-light
segmental-headed casement to left; pair of doors in second bay from
right with 3 flush panels each, flanking panelled pilasters and glazing-
bar sash side-lights with panels beneath, and segmental radial fanlight;
late C19 glazed gabled porch. Interior: not inspected but noted to have
panelled window shutters and a c.1820 canterlevered staircase with
wrought iron balustrade. The north front was formerly a symmetrical
composition of 3-bays and the left-hand bay is probably an only slightly
later addition. V.C.H., Vol. VIII, p.117.
