Gate lodge. Circa 1848 with late C20 addition. Dressed snecked red
sandstone with ashlar dressings; hipped plain tile roof. Square plan
with later addition; Tudor Gothic style. One storey. Plinth; brick
ridge stack consisting of 2 star-shaped shafts with oversailing tops.
Windows with 2 pointed-arched lights and raised chamfered surrounds.
West front: 1:1:1 bays; central Tudor-arched doorway with boarded
door and porch with coped parapeted gable and truncated, finial and
chamfered Tudor-arched entrance with plain armorial shield above.
South front: 1:1:1 bays; central projecting square bay has coped
parapeted gable with truncated finial, and window with 3 pointed-arched
lights and returned hoodmould. Gabled porch to east too. C20 flat-roofed
red brick addition to north not of special architectural interest. Interior
not inspected. The lodge is shown on the Pitchford Tithe map of 1848.

Hall (qv) Salop Records Office, document no. 3348/T/1-2.
