Public house. Early-mid C17, with altered fenestration and C20 rear extensions.
Coursed ironstone rubble, thatched roof, coped gables. Flanking brick chimneys,
chimney of pale limestone ashlar to right of centre. Cross-passage plan. 2
storeys, 3 bays with passage between right bays. Ground floor has barred wooden
casements, 3-light in outer bays, 4-light to centre. First floor has 4 sash
windows in architrave frames, 5-pane to outer bays, 4-pane to centre. All
windows have small panes and wooden lintels. Top-lit flush-panelled door to
passage in 4-centred chamfered arch.. Stone wall masks C20 rendered extension to
right. Rear wall has blocked 3-light window with chamfered wooden mullions to
first floor right, and C20 single storey extensions. Interior: heavy
stop-chamfered spine beams; stop-chamfered wooden lintel to large fireplace
backing onto passage; 2-light stone mullion window in rear wall of left bay.
