Situated to south of Dunkirk House. Early C19 front to C18 house. 2 storeys
attic and basement, rendered red brick. Thin flanking Tuscan pilasters
with stone capitals up to shallow block string. Stone modillion cornice
and parapet with stone coping. The front breaks forward slightly to centre.
3 windows on 1st floor, recessed, sash, no glazing bars, keystones reaching
up to string, block sills. Ground floor: 2 large 2 light sashes, no glazing
bars, block sills. Central door originally of 5 panels, 2 fielded ones
remain, the rest glazed. Broad stone architrave doorcase painted. Flat
stone hood on cut brackets. The entrance is partly obscured by C19 gabled
open wood porch with bargeboards. The house has a gable end slate roof,
stones saddlestones with mitre finials and stone ridge.
Dunkirk House and Hillside with their garden walls form a group.
