Possibly a lock keeper's house, obviously connected with the Canal. Cl840
square building of 2 storeys ashlar. Low pitch hipped slate roof with projecting
boxed eaves. Central ridge stack with moulded string and cornice. South
front: 2 windows reused, sash, glazing bars, block sills. Entrance front
to east: 2 windows 1st floor, 1 blind, similar to south front but somewhat
narrower. Door to left recessed, 4 panels, 2 glazed. Stone lintel. Later
extension to west with superimposed bays of 4 lights, slate apron.
