A late C17 or early C18 front to a possibly earlier house. 2 storeys and
attic. 6 windows. The house stands at a point where the street makes
a slight angle in the facade with 3 windows on either side, as if it had
possibly consisted of 2 houses originally. Parapet. 3 dormers. Large
3-light windows with cambered head linings on the ground floor of the north
wing. Other windows ordinary sash windows. Very fine C17 doorway in fluted
frame with carved panel over it and large curved flat hood above supported
by carved brackets. C18 6-panel moulded door. Modern addition to the
north.
Nos 1 & 2, Norman House, The Tower House, Lamb House, Nos 13 to 17 (consec)
and No 1 Mermaid Street form a group.
