House with later shop. C16, refaced and altered in mid-C19 and
again in C20. Timber-framed, clad in brick; tiled roof. 4-unit
plan in series, of two principal dates, set end-on to Market
Place. 3 storeys. Front:regular 2-window range under hipped roof.
Cogged brick eaves. All upper-floor windows with rusticated
lintels. and key-block; 4-pane sashes to 2nd floor, windows
bricked up to 1st. C20 glazed concertina doors to ground. Timber
framing visible to rear (east wall, lst floor: close studding
with curved angle braces). Rear gable end with segment-headed
windows to upper floors, wedge lintels over sash to ground.
Interior: C18 joinery to 1st floor includes doors and a fire
surround; steep winder stair. Queen-strut roof with side purlins
and braces. Partition between two central bays is of close
studding. Ogee-headed arched doorway visible in west wall belongs
to adjacent property (see no 25).
