Farmbuildings. Mid C18. Flemish bond brick on a red
sandstone plinth with corrugated asbestos and slate roofs.
L-shaped range with barn in the west range and stables,
shippon and haylofts in the north range. West range has
opposed cart entries with semi-elliptical brick arches
flanked by square piers (formerly supporting a catslide
canopy) and rows of tall vents on 2 levels. Each end has a
crow-stepped gable. The north range has 5 doors (one
blocked) with segmental brick arch heads or stone lintels, a
first floor band and 2 loft hatches. The first bay has a
crow-stepped gable to front and rear, a lean-to against the
left and a stone-built wing which predates the rest and has
a chamfered door opening with shaped lintel. The roof
construction of the west range was lost in a fire but has
been replaced.
