House. 1908. Barry Parker and Rayrnond Unwin. Painted pebbledash with tile flats and first-floor sill band. Hipped roof of tile with boxed eaves; flat lead roof to ground-floor porch and pair of projecting bays. All openings flat arched. Two storeys. Roughly square in plan with two-window range and two windows to each return. Entrance recessed just off centre axis, the entrance porch with fitted settle; high square stack on centre line reinforces cubic quality of design. All windows with leaded casements. Rectangular bay to either side of centre range with metal roofs becoming canopy to entrance. First-floor windows abut eaves. Second stack to slope of left hip. This design is unusual for being prepared in the Letchworth office of Parker and Unwin and shows some of the characteristics of their work there. Also of note is the emphasis on mass and formal geometry.
