Uploader's Comments

The Gissing Centre is a small museum, opened in 1990, located at 2-4 Thompson's Yard, Westgate. The Wakefield novelist George Gissing lived here from his birth in 1857 to the age of 13. The houses were built by Samuel Thompson, a wool stapler or merchant, in the early 1800s.
