House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah.
c1826-30; altered. Painted stucco, slate roof with stuccoed
chimneys to left and right. Double-depth double-fronted plan
with back extension.
2 storeys and 3 windows, symmetrical; moulded gutter cornice.
Wide 3-bay verandah with "turned" columns, open-work brackets
and lead-clad roof. The ground floor has a square-headed
doorway with moulded architrave, half-glazed door and plain
overlight, flanked by large canted bay windows with 4-pane
sashed glazing; the 1st floor has three 4-pane sashes with
moulded architraves.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Adjoins No.14 to the right (qv) and No.16 to the left (qv).
All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
