House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah.
c1826-30; altered. Painted stucco, slate roof with
pebble-dashed chimneys to left. Double-depth single-fronted
plan with back extension.
2 storeys and 2 windows; moulded gutter cornice. Simple
verandah of 3 unequal bays with cast-iron columns and wooden
open-work frieze forming very shallow Tudor arches. The ground
floor has a square-headed doorway to the right with moulded
architrave and panelled door with glazed top panels, and a
large canted bay window with 16-pane sashed glazing; the 1st
floor has 2 small rectangular windows with C20 top-hung
casements imitating sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Adjoins No.11 to the right (qv) and No.13 to the left (qv).
All the listed buildings in Marine Crescent, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
