Henry Lord Middleton Baron of Middleton Co. Warwick born 1726, married Dorothy daughter and coheir of George Cartwright esquire of Ossington Notts and died 14 Jun 1800 aged 74 leaving issue Henry born 24 Apr 1763, Dorothy married in 1784 to Richard Langley Esq and Harriet married to Hon Lumley Saville. He succeeded to the title and estates of his cousin, Thomas Lord Middleton and added dignity to the peerage by a mind well cultivated, improved by the advantages untainted by the vices, of travel. Loyal from principle and maintaining a firm independence, he steadily supported the measures of Government in times of turbulence and sedition in a civil as well as a military capacity. He was active, just and impartial and in private life he was generous, hospitable, friendly and sincere. At his decease universal regret was felt and expressed and those who from the dearer ties of affinity were more intimately acquainted with his worth were left more sincerely to deplore so great a loss! Crest A coronet. Supporters Dexter A grey friar in his habit all proper to his girdle his beads argent, thereto pendant or, in the dexter hand a crutch also gold, in the sinister a banner fringed all gules charged with an owl argent ducally gorged and chained gold; sinister a savage proper wreathed about the loins and temples with ivy vert, in the sinister hand a club resting on the ground also proper in the dexter hand a banner as in the hand of the friar.
