Small town house, now shop. Late C18 or early C19; altered.
Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings (roof not
visible). Narrow rectangular single-fronted plan at
right-angles to street. Three storeys and 2 windows, with
stone sill-bands on saw-toothed brick courses to both upper
floors, modillioned moulded wooden eaves cornice. Ground floor
has doorway to right, with moulded stone architrave and square
plate-glass shop window to left with similar architrave, both
under a plain fascia board with cornice; 1st floor has sashed
windows without glazing bars and 2nd floor has 4-pane sashes,
all these with moulded architraves. Tall chimney to left.
Small early building of domestic scale forming interesting
contrast with later and much larger commercial buildings in
this street.
