House and guest house, c.1500 with alterations mainly of C19. 2 storeys and
attics. 2-cell plan with cross-passage entrance. Timber-framed, the front
wall encased in C19 brickwork with a band at 1st floor, pebble-dashed in C20.
Plaintiled roof with a large internal end chimney of red brick. C19/C20
sashes with large panes. C20 6-panelled entrance door with oblong fanlight,
in cross entry position. Good arch-braced close-studding and plain crownpost
roof; evidence for unglazed windows with square mullions. One of a pair of
service room doorways has a blocked 4-centred head. A large open fireplace in
the hall. A single-storey plaintiled extension to rear of C17/C18, and
various other rear alterations of C19.
