Baptist chapel. Circa mid C19, with circa early C20 Sunday
school addition. English bond red brick with stuccoed front
and slate roof.
PLAN: Rectangular plan with galleries on three sides, entrance
on the east front under the gallery and circa early C20 Sunday
school at the back.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey, 3-bay east front with pilasters and
parapet raised at centre containing panel; stringcourses at
cill level; round-headed windows in moulded architraves with
multi-pane cast-iron frames; wide Doric portico with pilasters
and engaged columns supporting an entablature and with
panelled double doors. Brick side elevations with pilasters,
stringcourses and similar round-headed cast-iron windows. At
rear early C20 brick Sunday school.
INTERIOR: Galleries on three sides with panelled fronts and
supported on slender columns. Virtually complete set of
panelled box pews, on galleries as well. Panelled rostrum. C20
ceilings suspended from galleries and from auditorium ceiling.
Later C19 organ in front of arch on west [litugical east]
wall.
