Clock tower. 1892. Sandstone. Jacobean style. Square plan. Divided
into three stages by cornices. Lowest stage has drinking fountains on north
and south sides, within foliated semi-circular recesses and with projecting
semi-circular bowls. On the west side is a doorway with round head, on the
east a horse trough with an inscription above: "Erected by the Friendly
Societies of Willenhall and his fellow townsmen May 10th 1892. In memory
of Joseph Tonks". The middle stage has, on each side, a recess with two
blind arches. Below the upper cornice there is an iron lamp bracket at
each corner, now with C20 lamps. The upper stage is tapered. Set forward
on each side is a clock face with carved stone border. The stone cap of
the tower has, facing in all four directions, a carved shell motif within a
semi-circular pediment. Above is an iron weathervane.
