4/201 Highfield House with railings
and gate

Detached house, now hotel and restaurant. Late C18. Limestone
ashlar, Welsh slate roof with coped verges and gable end stone
stacks. Three-storey, 3-window. Central 6-panelled door with
fanlight and pedimented architrave with pilasters, 16-pane sash
either side. Plat band to first floor window sills; three 16-pane
sashes. Cornice to plain blocking course, pilasters carried up
from ground to eaves level. Rubble stone returns with lead
rainwater goods. Rendered rear with sashes, 2-storey wing to
right, 2-storey lean-to extension to left, rear roof pitch and
extension roofs with double Roman tiles. Interior not inspected.
Rubble stone walls with cast-iron spearhead railings attached to
front, central square gate piers with cast-iron gate, probably all
contemporary with house.
