Coach house and stables, to Semington House (q.v.), now detached
house. 1790s. Limestone ashlar front, rear and returns rubble
stone, Welsh slate hipped roof, ashlar stacks. Two-storey and
attic, 3-window. Large elliptically-arched double doors to left,
smaller arched opening to right with recessed porch for C20
entrance, contains half-glazed door brought here from Semington
House. First floor has elliptically-arched sashes, large 24-pane
to centre flanked by smaller 12-panes, gable over with pigeon holes
for dovecote. Single-storey former stable attached to right with
two 2-light flush mullioned casements, 5-step stone mounting block
against front. Former stable and tack room to left has two planked
doors and 2-light mullioned casement. Right return has inserted
C20 bow window. Rear has C20 casements.
Interior converted to dwelling during 1970s, but some fittings such
as iron bridle hangers and tethering rings retained. Built for the
Bruges family of Semington House.
