Detached house. Datestone inscribed 1698. Coursed rubble stone,
stone slate roof with coped verges and gable end brick stacks. L-
plan. Two-storey, 6-window. Gabled stone porch to left of centre,
with moulded square-headed doorway, saddleback coped verge, inner
planked door, two 2-light recessed cyma-mullioned casements to
left, two to right and 28-pane fixed shop window. String course to
first floor; six 2-light mullioned casements, cavetto-moulded
stone eaves cornice. Left return has single-storey rubble stone
extension. Rear gabled wing to left and first floor of main range
have 2-light casements, lean-to to rear of right part has 3-light
casement.
Interior: Drawing room to right of entrance has good bolection-
moulded stone fireplace surround with fielded stone panels to
curved fire back, chamfered beam and cupboards with fielded
panelled doors. Entrance hall has full panelling, moulded ceiling
beams, closed string stairs with twisted balusters, wide moulded
handrail and square newels against rear wall, parts may be reset.
Former kitchen in room to left has open fireplace with chamfered
lintel on stone jambs.
