Park-keeper's Lodge, 1883, by Henry Suggitt, Park Manager. Brick with
sandstone ashlar dressings and rusticated quoins at angles; Welsh slate
roof; stone gable copings, kneelers, metal finials; and 2 brick lateral
stacks to rear. 2 storeys with off-centre projecting wing over 3-bay
arcaded porch having round arches, Tuscan columns and square, rusticated
angle piers and responds to left return. Within the porch is a further
brick porch with two 6-panelled doors. First floor : cross window with
hoodmould and carved mask stops, below circular cross window in gable. To
left of wing a pointed-arched cross window. Cross windows also to first
floor of right return of wing, both floors of north (right) gable, and first
floor of south (left) gable, above square bay window. Chamfered plinth and
moulded string between floors. Late C20 rear extension is not of interest.
