1/15 Kiln Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Mid C18 altered and extended C19. Brick in Flemish bond with some
vitreous headers, old tile gabled roof. Central staircase plan; 4 cells. 2
storeys and cellar, part one storey. End chimney on left of original house,
with corniced head and clay pot. Corbelled eaves. Sash windows with glazing
bars with segmental heads on ground floor. Entrance (south) front: 3 bays.
Two 3-light and one 1-light C20 casement windows on first floor, c.1985, sash
windows on ground floor. Circa 1900 rustic porch in centre with iron ogee
roof. 6-panel entrance door, the top 4 panels glazed. Graffiti in bricks of
right return, including date 1760. Interior: step-chamfered beams; panelled
and-board doors with H-L hinges and strap hinges; cellar brick-paved with
candle recess.
