SU 57 NE BASILDON BECKFORDS

1/10 Emery's Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Mid C16 with early C19 refacing and additions, and late C19
additions. Timber framed with later rendered facing, plat band, and
white painted brick additions to east. Old tile roof with catslide over
outshot to north and central ridge stack, later projecting gabled cross
wing to east with stack and catslide over outshot to east. L-plan with
2 framed bays and later additions creating lobby entrance type. 2 storeys.
2 glazing bar sashes on each floor with central 4-panelled door beneath stack and
gabled porch with 2 Tuscan columns. First floor 3-light segmental headed casement
and ground floor 4-light casement in gable end to right; small casement in
l ean-to Interior: substantial remains of C16 timber frame.
