Early C17 timber framed altered. No 79 of 3 storeys, formerly plastered stone
ground floor now brick; tile hung oversailing upper floor. Gable end old
tile roof. One casemement to 2nd floor. 1st floor has an original, though
altered, 4 light mullioned and transomed rectangular bay window with narrow
side lights. Plain glass. Low pitched gable over, leaded with fretted edge.
Moulded sill on ogee shaped corbels. Ground floor altered with modern window.
Door to left with C19 Gothic surround. End gables of house are tile hung,
large brick chimney to right hand has been renewed.
Interior: lst floor has Cl7 panelling and fireplace.
No 81 is of one storey and attic. Gable to front hung with scallop tiles.
C19 carved bargeboards elaborate leaf base of now broken finial. Small rectangular
2 light bay window with small low gable leaded with scalloped edge, supported
on brackets with painted plaster female heads. Late C19 shop on ground floor.
Nos 77 to 87 (odd, No 2 Avon View and Nos 91 to 95 (odd) form a group.
