Farmhouse, now a house. Early C19, extended c.1875 in the style
of E. W. Godwin. Brick with plain tile roof. Battered plinth.
2 gable stacks, one of them external. Single storey plus attics,
2 bays. L-plan. Windows are mostly glazing bar sashes with
segmental heads. Street front has to left, C20 single storey
addition with a casement to south. To its right, 2 sashes and
another sash on a higher level. To right again, a sash. Above,
to right, tile hung gabled dormer. North side has to left, 2
sashes and to right, C20 glazed porch and beyond, a sash. Beyond
again, C19 lean-to addition with door. Above, a casement and a
sash. South side has C20 casement and door. Above, a sash.
This is one of a number of farmhouses and cottages altered by E.
W. Godwin for Earl Cowper in 1872-78.
