Pair of cottages. 1895. By E. W. Godwin for Earl Cowper.
Brick, partly tile hung, with plain tile roof. 3 external gable
stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. T-plan. Windows are glazing bar
sashes and casements. Street front has projecting central gabled
bay with 4 casements and a door in each return angle. Flanked by
single sashes. Above, 4 sashes and plaque inscribed 'C. 1875'.
South side has a door and a sash, plus a casement in return
angle. To right, small- gabled outbuilding. North side has rear
addition with catslide roof and 2 casements. Above, 2 sashes.
At rear, central gabled outbuilding with door and casement to
north. Rear elevation has, above, 2 sashes. This building is
one of a number of farmhouses and cottages designed by E. W.
Godwin for Earl Cowper in 1872-78.
