House, now flats. 1867. Builder HB Smith. Converted into flats
late C20. Red and white brick; slate roofs. 3 storeys and
attic. Symmetrical facade in 3 distinct bays, the outer 2 bays
with brick clasping pilasters rising to minimal capitals
supporting open pedimented gable-ends. These bays contain
3-storey canted window bays fitted with 1/1 horned sashes,
and, in upper floor, a 2/2 horned sash in centre of bays. One
tripartite sash in attic storey of each side bay, with 1/1
glazing bars. Centre bay is 2-storeyed. Triangular porch
entrance reached by steps which continue through an arched
opening to a 4-panelled door. South cant of porch with an
arched leaded window filled with coloured glass. Triradial
roof. Over porch is a 3/3 horned sash. Gabled roofs. Stacks to
north side of each outer bay.
INTERIOR: staircase has 2 turned balusters to each tread, and
a ramped and wreathed handrail. 4-panelled internal doors.
Part of a group of fine houses in this road.
