House. c1850. Divided into 4 flats late C20. White brick;
slate roof.
3 storeys on basement. Italianate style. Facade is a 4-window
range, the bay to left contained in a 4-storey tower over the
entrance. The tower is square and has a rusticated ground
floor. Half-glazed door under a deep arched hood supported on
pilasters with consoles. Arched side window to north without
glazing bars. String courses between each floor. 1/1 arched
sash to west and north faces of first and second floors, with
stuccoed architraves. Top floor has triple arched 1/1 sashes
to all 4 sides, each sash separated by a column. Cornice below
hipped roof on console brackets. Elevation to east of tower
defined by rusticated and vermiculated quoins. Basement
windows replaced late C20. 3 ground-floor windows are 1/1
unhorned sashes with arched heads separated by unfluted
columns on bases. Three 1/1 unhorned first-floor sashes in
elaborated architraves. Second-floor cornice continues from
tower. 3 arched casements in attic storey. Wide eaves
supported on alternating large and small consoles. Hipped
roof. Internal gable-end stack to south; other stacks to rear.
Attached to south return is a late C19 conservatory under a
hipped roof. INTERIOR not inspected.
