House. c1844, possibly a remodelling of an earlier building.
Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressing and stone slate
roof, with 3 side wall, 3 gable and 3 ridge stacks. All have
coped lozenge shaped flues, the side wall and gable ones
multiple. Tudor Revival style.
EXTERIOR: chamfered plinth, quoins, coped gables with
kneelers, coped parapets. 2 storeys plus garrets; 5 window
range. U-plan. Windows are mainly wood mullioned casements
with label moulds. Central block has 2 buttresses and three
3-light windows. Below, to left, square porch with Tudor
arched 2-leaf door. To its right, 2 tall 3-light windows.
Larger left wing has a 3-light window and above it, a single
light. Below, a larger 4-light window. Smaller right wing has
the same fenestration.
Left return has a square 2-storey stone bay window with two
3-light stone cross-mullioned windows on each floor. Above, to
left, a 3-light stone mullioned window.
To left, a set back range with a stone 3-light cross mullioned
window above and a small square light below. Right return has
an off-centre first-floor wooden oriel window with glazing bar
casements. To its left, a 2-light casement, then a single one.
Below, 3 windows, 1, 2 and 3 lights.
Single window range to right has a 3-light window above and a
double glazing bar casement below, with a central stone
mullion.
