Co-operative store, now DIY shop. c1910. Brick with faience
front and hipped slate roof.
3 storeys plus blind attic; 3 window range. Upper floors have
bays flanked by panelled pilasters with segmental pedimented
aedicules and festoons at their tops. 3 tall round-arched
3-light windows under massive swags, with transoms, those in
the outer bays dentilled. Blind attic storey with rebated
corners and cornice. Ground floor has central recessed doorway
with serpentine curved side windows, glazed door and
overlight. Coffered wooden ceiling. On either side, 8-pane
shop windows. Above, 6 segment-headed overlights. Left return
has blank ground floor and above, a window and pilasters
identical to the front.
INTERIOR has branching wooden staircase.
