House. c1825. Gault brick, colourwashed to facade. Slate
roofs. Double-pile plan. Facade is 3 storeys in 3 bays, each
bay defined by a pilaster strip. 3-window range. Ground floor
with a 3-bay portico formed of 4 fluted Doric columns
supporting a plain entablature. Wrought-iron balcony. Three
6/6 unhorned sashes to the first floor, set within shallow
recesses. 3 similar 3/6 second-floor sashes. Low parapet. 2
gabled roofs. North return is plain, with a parapet between
the 2 gabled roofs and 2 wall stacks. Rear of 3 bays with 6/6
and 3/6 sashes as before and a ground-floor C20 lean-to.
INTERIOR: open-well staircase with stick balusters and a
reeded ramped and wreathed handrail. At the top is an oval
lantern. The first and second-floors have 2 east rooms entered
through curved 6-panelled doors. First-floor front room with a
fluted plaster cornice. Late C20 doors communicate with No.17
(qv) to south. Cellar partly rebuilt.
