Villa, now 2 houses. c1831-48. By RW and C Jearrad. Stucco
over brick with hipped slate roof; tall stucco end and
party-wall stacks with cornices.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2+3 first-floor windows, those 2 to left
are set back (No.24), the 3rd window-bay breaks forward
slightly. Plinth. First-floor band; first-floor sill band;
tooled architraves to all openings. First-floor windows (from
left) tripartite 4/4 sash between 4 fixed lights, 2/2 sash,
similar tripartite window, multi-pane casement and 8/8 sash.
Ground floor has tripartite window now interrupted by French
window; entrance a 6-panel door with overlight with glazing
bars, tripartite window 4/4 between 2/2 sashes, two 6/6 sashes
(the last 3 windows are taller). All windows in plain reveals.
Entrance to No.25 to right return: steps to 4-panel double
doors and overlight in tooled surround. Rear has mainly 6/6
and 8/8 sashes.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery including
panelled shutters to ground floor.
Abuts Nos 1-23 Lansdown Parade (qv). Part of the former
Lansdowne Estate, a notable example of suburban town planning.
