House, mid C18, possibly on earlier core, ashlar-fronted red brick
with slate half-hipped mansard valley roof and rear stacks. Two
storeys and attic, 5-window formal front with plinth, band and
moulded eaves cornice. Twelve-pane sashes in moulded architraves,
smaller scale to first floor, and 3 sloping dormers. Central
half-glazed door in moulded architrave with pediment on brackets.
North end wall is red brick with fine moulded brick dentil cornice,
south end wall is red brick with roughcast gable, ashlar band and
fine moulded brick modillion cornice. Interior not inspected.
House was recorded in deeds back to 1620, in 1690 was a malting
house and recorded as such until 1817, owned by Ring family,
blacksmiths 1703-66, Rutty family, farmers 1766-1817 and Tayler
family 1817-84.
