Park including Nos 1 and
2, The Bungalow

GV II

Stables, now garage and accommodation. Early-mid C19, altered. Pinkish brick
in Flemish bond, Lakeland slate roof. U-shaped, open on south side. Main
2-storey, 8-bay range with single-storey wings projecting from end bays of 6
bays to left and 5 bays to right. Garage (former coach-house) doorways have
double board doors each with a small glazed pane; other entrances have ½-glazed
doors with glazing bars and overlights; all are in wooden doorcases with
pilasters, friezes and cornices. Windows are 12-pane sashes to ground floor,
unequally-hung 9-pane sashes to 1st floor, all with projecting stone sills and
cambered brick arches. Main range has central garage door in shallow,
flat-roofed porch, having oculus with glazing bars above; 3 bays to right have
central door flanked by windows with 3 windows above; 3 bays to left similar but
without window above door; hipped roof with small, central, louvred cupola with
dome and weathervane, and cross-ridge stack to right. Left-hand side-wing has
tripled garage doors to left, a window, and 2 doors; right-hand side-wing has
door, window, door with another window in end wall; both wings have hipped
roofs, right-hand wing with ball-on-cushion finial and stack to rear.
